King Khan & BBQ Show return to The Slowdown (Jr.) tonight. The duo is out supporting its first full-length in more than five years, Bad News Boys, released Feb. 24 on In The Red Records. It’s more of the same old-school garage rock that we’ve come to expect from the Canadian duo.

Last time they played at Slowdown the performance was part of a Sailor Jerry’s promotion, back in November 2012. From the review:

Sultan, playing drums, guitar and singing (simultaneously), and King Khan on guitar and vocals were dressed in Mardi Gras-quality royal attire, complete with capes and feathered chapeaus. Glittery and cool. So was their music, a combination of garage, punk and sock-hop doo-wap, Chubby Checker meets Elvis meets Jack White meets the cast of Treme. They prodded the crowd to dance, and got a few to do a half-assed Frug.

Opening tonight’s show is Toronto band Milk Lines and Omaha’s own Sucettes. $15, 9 p.m. Do Not Miss.
